The Cockrell School of Engineering is home to one of the nation’s largest and most distinguished engineering communities. Income from the Cockrell Endowments supports faculty chairholders, faculty fellows, student scholarships, and graduate fellowships. Over the decades, through the bequests of Ernest Cockrell, Jr. (BS 1936) and Virginia Harris Cockrell (BA 1936), The Cockrell Foundation has played a leading role in establishing a substantial number of endowed chairs, scholarships, and fellowships—building a strong foundation for academic excellence and innovation. This sustained support, spanning more than 50 years, has had a significant and lasting impact on the school, honoring the intent of the Foundation’s founding donors.
