Houston Methodist Hospital (HMH) is a leading academic medical center and the flagship institution of Houston Methodist, a comprehensive healthcare system serving the Greater Houston Area. Located in the Texas Medical Center, HMH is recognized for its excellence in patient-centered care, advanced medical technology, and specialized clinical services. The Cockrell Foundation made its first grant to HMH in 1974. Ernest Cockrell Jr. served on the hospital’s board and received outstanding care from its physicians and staff. In recognition of this connection—and in alignment with the Foundation’s mission and the intent of its founding donors—Houston Methodist Hospital was designated as one of the Foundation’s major focus organizations.
